Step Weld

Suitable for welding mismatched (uneven rail height due to rail wear) rail

• Various sizes of Step Welds available to cover a range of mismatched rail
• Currently available for AS47, AS50, AS53 and AS60 rails
• Minimal training required if welders hold a current Thermit® ticket for the Elite Welding Process

  Crucible Euro

• Single Use Crucible in a robust steel casing
• Suitable for use with crane rail, grooved rail and the SkV-Elite welding process
• Lifting handle for ease of use and operator safety
• A separate filter system can be used to reduce smoke and particles
• Uses standard SkV-Elite equipment and consumables therefore reducing cost
• The steel vessel can be used to remove slag and other site waste after welding

  Crucible Enviro

• Environmentally friendly Single Use Crucible
• Crucible breaks down after use and can be buried onsite (where regulations allow)
• Ergonomically designed with twin lifting handles for ease of use and operator safety
• Twin thimble tapping system with main and back-up ports to ensure error free pouring
• Compatible with the SkV-Elite welding process
• Uses standard SkV-Elite equipment and consumables therefore reducing cost

Crane Rail

• Welding enables high strength and greater resistance for fully loaded cranes, minimises noise and vibration and reduces wheels wear and rail end batter

HPW (High Performance Weld)

• Selective and controlled alloying of the head of the rail to provide optimum hardness on the running surface while maintaining maximum ductility and toughness in the foot
• Welding process is suitable for heavy haul applications and welding of head hardened rails, all rail grades and profiles
• Specialised plug with alloying elements available for head hardened rails (R350HT, R370HT or R400HT)
• Only one grade of Thermit® portion is required with desired hardness reached by using different HPW plugs

• Complete process takes less than 45 minutes
• Neutral temperature of rail is not affected
